New homes mark easily. Fresh paint picks up scuffs from a wardrobe corner, stair edges chip when a sofa is turned too quickly, and new floors scratch under a dragged table leg. Before the first item comes in, we lay floor protection along the route, fit corner guards on the walls that take the turns and cover the banister. Heavy pieces are carried, never dragged.
It helps to walk the house before we arrive and photograph any marks that are already there. If you have only just taken handover, your snag list may already do that job. On the day, the supervisor checks the route with you at the start and again at the end, so both of us know the house looks the way it did when we walked in.
Outside matters as well. On a row of townhouses, a moving truck can easily block a neighbour's driveway or the footpath families use. We park where community management allows, keep the path clear while we load, and lay boards over any grass the crew has to cross with heavy pieces.
