Tenancy Registration
Abu Dhabi registers leases through Tawtheeq, not Ejari. Landlords or agents often handle it, but check it is done, because the building may ask for it before a move in.
A move to the capital is planned from the far end. We confirm when your Abu Dhabi building takes deliveries, time the Dubai loading to reach it, and keep the same crew with your furniture from the first carton out of the old home to the last bed rebuilt in the new one.

Moves inside Dubai are usually planned from the old home outwards. A move to the capital works better the other way round. As movers from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, we start with the building you are moving into: when it lets trucks unload, how its service lift is booked and what it wants to see before you move in. Only then do we fix the loading time in Dubai.
The reason is practical. A truck that reaches Abu Dhabi outside the building's delivery hours waits, loaded, in the heat, and the crew loses the part of the day it needs for unpacking and rebuilding. Working back from the arrival slot turns a long day into a predictable one.
The survey is done in Dubai, face to face or over video. Our supervisor notes what comes apart, what needs extra wrapping for the drive and whether everything suits the new layout. The written quote then covers loading, the drive, unloading and assembly as one job, and our Dubai moving company page shows how it fits with local moves.
The packing is the same as for any Dubai move. The rules around it are not, and each one needs a little planning.

DEWA does not supply Abu Dhabi. The new home is connected by the Abu Dhabi provider, so open that account early and close the DEWA one for your Dubai address.
Abu Dhabi towers and communities set their own move hours, permits and lift bookings, as Dubai buildings do. We ask for them before offering you a date.
Abu Dhabi restricts trucks on some city roads at peak times. We plan the route and the arrival so the truck is not held back on the last stretch.
The cheapest looking offer for an intercity move is often a truck with a driver, with labour found separately at each end. Here is what that means on the day.
The same team loads, travels with the load and rebuilds
A driver, with labour hired at each end
Two emirates means two sets of accounts. In Dubai you close things: the DEWA account, any district cooling or gas account the building runs, and the move out permit. In Abu Dhabi you open them: the lease registered on Tawtheeq, electricity and water with the Abu Dhabi provider, and the move in permit.
Each of these is your account, not ours, yet its timing affects the truck. Request the DEWA move out a few days before you leave, and apply for the new utility account as soon as the Abu Dhabi lease is signed, so the crew has power to work by and your furniture arrives in a cool home.

On most Abu Dhabi moves we load early. The Dubai building has to allow it, so we ask for its first service lift slot of the day, and on larger homes the packing is finished the day before so there is nothing left to seal in the morning.
An early start does three things. It gets the heaviest carrying done before the loading bay heats up, it puts the truck on the road ahead of the worst of the Dubai rush where the route allows, and it leaves enough of the day at the Abu Dhabi end to unload, rebuild and clear up without hurrying.
In summer the timing matters even more. The midday break on outdoor work applies through the hottest months, and furniture should never sit in a parked truck while the crew waits for a lift. Our advice on moving in a Dubai summer explains which belongings suffer most.
A closed truck keeps out sun and dust, but it still warms up on a long run. Some belongings need packing for that, and a few should travel with you.
Boxed or screen packed, stood upright, loaded away from the doors.
Why: Heat and constant vibration are hardest on screens and drives.
Blanketed and strapped to the truck wall so nothing shifts.
Why: A piece that slides about for a whole drive arrives scuffed on every corner.
Wrapped in blankets first, with film only over the blankets where needed.
Why: Film pressed straight onto leather sweats in the heat and can mark it.
Sealed in mattress bags and stood on edge against a flat surface.
Why: Bags keep them clean through two loading bays and a long run.
Emptied and defrosted the night before, carried and driven upright.
Why: A fridge still holding water leaks over everything packed near it.
Packed in small cartons in the middle of the load, or carried in your car.
Why: Wax and creams soften or separate in a warm truck.
In your own car where possible; otherwise loaded last and watered on arrival.
Why: Hours in a closed truck are hard on living plants.
Passports, IDs, jewellery and the new keys travel in your car.
Why: Nothing irreplaceable should be out of your sight for the day.
Floors and lift padded, beds and wardrobes already down, the home loaded in the order it will come off.
Furniture strapped and blanketed in a closed truck, timed to arrive inside the Abu Dhabi delivery window.
The same crew pads the new lift, carries each carton to the room on its label and ticks off the inventory.
Every bed, wardrobe and table reassembled, appliances placed and every piece of wrapping taken away.
Move hours, permits and lift bookings confirmed in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi before a date is offered.
Blankets, mattress bags, screen packs and cartons, with furniture strapped for a long run rather than a short hop.
The team that loads your home is the team that unloads it, so nothing depends on strangers at the far end.
Furniture travels covered, out of the sun and sand, with the doors shut between the two buildings.
Bed frames, wardrobes, desks and the dining table put back up in the rooms you choose.
Empty cartons, paper and film collected at the end, so the new home is clear on the first night.
A few questions to the new building office settle most of the plan. And a handful of things belong in your car, not the truck.
A move between emirates has a few jobs a local move does not. Most are quick if they are done early.
A move to the capital costs more than a short hop across Dubai mostly because it takes more of the day: the truck and crew are committed from the first load to the last rebuilt bed. Your quote is a single written figure, sent once we have surveyed the home, and it is built from the six things below.
How much furniture and how many cartons, which sets the truck size and whether one run is enough.
Lift slots, loading bays and delivery windows in both emirates decide how long each end takes.
Larger homes are packed the day before so the truck can leave early. Smaller flats are usually packed and loaded the same morning.
Wardrobes, beds and large tables take time at both ends, so they are counted at the survey.
An island tower and a villa further out are different drives, with different access at the door.
Month ends fill first, and summer moves need the earliest start both buildings allow.

The price comes from how much you are moving, what each building allows, whether we pack the day before, how much furniture needs rebuilding and where in Abu Dhabi the new home is. It is higher than a move within Dubai mainly because the crew and truck give up most of the day to it. Once we have surveyed your home, you get a fixed price in writing that covers loading, the drive, unloading and assembly.
Take less and make it one trip. Sell bulky furniture you would replace anyway, box up the unbreakable things yourself and let the crew handle glass, electronics and large furniture. Pick a mid month weekday when both buildings have slots free. A cheap truck with helpers at each end can cost more in the end if the Abu Dhabi building turns it away or assembly is charged on the spot.
A typical apartment is loaded in the morning, driven over and unpacked the same day, with the furniture rebuilt before the crew leaves. Larger flats and villas usually need a packing day in Dubai first, so the move runs over two days. The drive itself rarely decides the length; the lift slots and delivery windows at each building do.
Three to four weeks is comfortable. It gives time for the survey, the permits in both emirates and the Tawtheeq and utility account at the new home. Approvals are not always quick in either emirate, so start as soon as the Abu Dhabi lease is signed. For a move at the end of a month, allow a little longer.
Usually, yes. Your Dubai building wants a move out permit, and many Abu Dhabi towers and communities have their own move in rules, forms, lift bookings and deposits. We contact both buildings, request what the movers are responsible for and tell you which documents in your name to forward. Nothing is assumed from one emirate to the other.
Tawtheeq. Ejari is Dubai's tenancy registration and does not cover Abu Dhabi. There, leases are registered through Tawtheeq, which the landlord or agent often handles. Make sure it is done early, as the new building and the utility account may ask for it. Ask your Dubai landlord or agent how the old Ejari will be closed.
It closes. DEWA only supplies Dubai, so request a move out for your Dubai address a few days before the truck comes, keep the final bill and follow up any deposit due back to you. Electricity and water at the new home come from the Abu Dhabi provider, which needs its own application under your new lease.
Yes. The crew that packs and loads your home in Dubai goes with the move, unloads it in Abu Dhabi and rebuilds the furniture. They know which carton belongs where and which bolts go with which bed, because they took it apart. The supervisor from your survey runs both ends of the day.
Yes. If the Abu Dhabi home is smaller or not ready, part of the load can go into storage with a numbered inventory and follow later, or stay until you decide. That helps when a job starts before the family moves, too. The move and the storage sit on one written price. To discuss it first, call 058 135 7375.
