Moving and Storage Service From Best Mover Dubai

Dubai moves rarely line up neatly. A lease ends on the 30th, the new handover slips by three weeks, or a villa needs new floors before anyone can live in it. Best Mover Dubai runs a moving and storage service in Dubai for exactly those gaps. We survey the home, pack it properly, record each piece on an inventory and take it to storage in an enclosed truck. When the new address is ready, the same inventory comes back with the goods, and our crew unpacks and rebuilds the furniture where you want it.

Storage is not only for people between homes. We store furniture for families leaving the UAE for a summer or a long work posting, for tenants whose landlord is repainting or replacing a kitchen, and for owners clearing rooms before a fit out. Our moving and storage services are priced as one fixed figure after a free survey, covering packing, transport, the storage period and the return delivery, so the cost of the gap is known before you commit to it.

Three Services Under Moving and Storage Service

Book one on its own or combine them. Each is quoted separately, so you only pay for the work you need.

Storage Services

Your goods are stored against a numbered inventory, with each carton and each piece of furniture listed and labelled. Items sit on racks or pallets, never on a bare floor, and nothing is stacked so heavily that the bottom layer gives way over the months. Mattresses and sofas go in breathable covers. If you need one carton back before the main delivery, email us its number from the inventory and we arrange to pull it out.

Packing Services

Goods that go into storage get handled more than once: packed, loaded, unloaded at the store, racked, then loaded and unloaded again. Double wall cartons for books and kitchenware, dish packs with dividers for plates and glasses, corner guards on framed pictures and mirrors, and padded blankets on polished wood. Every carton is labelled with its room, its contents and its inventory number on two sides, so it can be read on a rack without being moved.

Packing and Unpacking

On delivery day the crew does more than drop cartons in the hall. We place furniture in the rooms you choose, rebuild beds, wardrobes and tables, and unpack the cartons you want opened first, usually the kitchen, the bathrooms and the children's rooms. Contents go onto shelves and into cupboards, not onto the floor. Empty cartons, paper and wrap leave with us the same day, so the new home is usable that evening rather than a week later.

When a Moving and Storage Service in Dubai Makes Sense

The most common reason is a timing gap. Your tenancy ends on a fixed date, the landlord wants the keys back, and the new apartment in Meydan or the townhouse in Mudon will not be handed over for another two or three weeks. Rather than moving twice, into a short let and then out again, you move once. We collect everything, hold it, and deliver straight to the new address when the keys arrive.

Renovation is the second. A villa in Umm Suqeim getting new floors, or an apartment in Business Bay stripped back for a fit out, is easier to work on when the rooms are bare. Paint dust and grout find their way into upholstery and drawers, so the furniture is better off somewhere else entirely. We can store the whole house or only the rooms being worked on, then return pieces in the order the rooms are finished.

The third is time away. Families leaving the UAE for a long summer, a secondment abroad or a few months between contracts often give up the lease and keep the furniture. For many of them, storing the contents works out cheaper than paying rent on rooms nobody is using, and the goods come back to whichever home they find on return, even in a different community.

Why Storage in Dubai Needs Airflow, Height and the Right Wrap

Heat is only part of the problem. For stored furniture, summer humidity is the bigger risk. Plastic stretch wrap is fine for a few hours on a truck, but over weeks it traps whatever moisture is already in the fabric or timber, and as temperatures shift that moisture settles against the surface. It shows up later as mould on fabric, cloudy marks on lacquer, swollen veneer and a musty smell that is hard to shift.

So we pack for storage differently from a same day move. Upholstery and mattresses go into breathable covers instead of sealed plastic. Wooden pieces are wrapped in blankets or paper padding that lets air through, and leather is kept out of direct contact with plastic. Fridges and washing machines are drained and dried, with their doors left slightly open so nothing grows inside them.

Where things sit matters too. Goods go on racks or pallets, off the floor, with a gap between pieces so air can move around them. Heavy cartons go at the bottom and light ones on top, and nothing leans against a mirror or a glass tabletop. If your collection falls in the hottest months, our guide to moving in Dubai in summer covers the packing day side of it.

The Inventory, Early Retrievals and the Day Everything Comes Back

Before anything leaves your home, the supervisor builds the inventory. Each carton gets a number and a room, and each piece of furniture is listed with a short note of its condition: a scratch on a table leg, a loose handle, a mark on a headboard. You receive a copy by email and sign it with us on collection day. It is the document both sides refer to when the goods come back.

Plans change while goods are in store. You might need winter clothes for a trip, a box of school books or a bike before the main delivery. Email us the inventory numbers and we schedule a retrieval, either for you to collect or for delivery. Reaching a carton deep in a stack takes handling time, so the quote spells out how early access works and what it costs before you sign.

On the return leg the crew brings the same inventory and ticks items off as they come through the door. Furniture is placed and rebuilt, cartons go to the rooms written on them, and anything you want unpacked is unpacked. If part of the household goes straight to the new home and part comes out of storage, our home and villa moving crew handles both legs on the same day.

Packing for Goods That Will Be Handled More Than Once

A direct move from Al Barsha to Motor City is one load and one unload. Storage adds at least two more handling points, plus weeks of sitting under the weight of other cartons. Weak boxes crush, cheap tape lets go, and a label written only on the lid disappears once something is stacked on top. We choose materials for the full cycle, not just the drive.

We also pack by weight. Books and tins go in small cartons so they can be lifted safely and do not split, while duvets and cushions go in larger ones. Every carton is filled to the top so it holds its shape in a stack, and any empty space gets paper fill. Cartons marked fragile are racked on top, never underneath.

  • Double wall cartons for books, files and kitchenware
  • Dish packs with cell dividers for glasses and plates
  • Picture and mirror boxes with corner protection
  • Breathable covers for mattresses and sofas
  • Moving blankets for wood, lacquer and stone tops
  • Labels on two sides with room and inventory number

What We Will Not Store, and What Should Stay With You

Some things cannot go into storage for safety reasons, and some simply should not. Anything that can catch fire, leak, rot or attract pests stays out, because one leaking tin can spoil every carton around it. We go through this with you during the survey so nothing is left standing at the door on packing day.

The second group is fine to store but belongs with you: passports, Emirates ID cards, tenancy papers, jewellery, cash, medication, laptops and the chargers you will need in the meantime. Pack a separate bag for those before the crew arrives and keep it in your car or a locked room. Our Dubai moving checklist includes a list of what to set aside.

  • Gas bottles, fuel, paint, thinners and solvents
  • Food, drinks and anything perishable
  • Plants, soil and garden chemicals
  • Pool chemicals and pressurised cans
  • Anything that is illegal to keep in the UAE

Pricing

What Changes the Price of Moving and Storage in Dubai

We do not publish a rate card, because two jobs that sound the same rarely are. Your quote comes after a free survey and lists each part of the job as its own line. The six factors below are what make one quote higher or lower than another.

What changes the quoteWhy it matters
Volume of GoodsA studio in Al Nahda and a five bedroom villa in Arabian Ranches need very different space, crew time and truck sizes. Volume drives most of the price.
Length of StorageStorage is charged by period, so a three week gap costs less than six months away. Give us your best estimate and we quote against it.
How Much We PackFull packing, fragile items only, or furniture only while you box the rest. Each option changes the crew hours and the materials on the quote.
Access at Both BuildingsLift slots, loading bay windows, long carries and stairs all change how long the crew needs. We check both addresses during the survey.
Early RetrievalsPulling out one carton before the main delivery takes extra handling and a separate trip. The quote states how this is charged before you sign.
Unpacking on DeliveryUnpacking every carton takes longer than placing them in the right rooms. You choose which rooms we unpack fully, and the quote reflects it.
FAQs

Moving and Storage Service in Dubai: Your Questions

Something we have not covered? Call 058 135 7375, email hello@bestmoverdubai.ae or send the quote form with a note.

How Much Does Storage Cost in Dubai?

It depends on the volume you store, how long you store it, how much packing we do and the access at both addresses. A one bedroom flat in Karama needs a fraction of the space and crew time of a family villa, so we do not work from a rate card. After a free survey we send one fixed figure in writing that covers packing, transport, the storage period and redelivery.

Can I Store Furniture for Just a Few Weeks?

Yes. Short gaps between tenancies are one of the main reasons people use storage. Give us the dates when you request a quote, even if the handover date is not confirmed yet. If the new home is delayed, email us and we will move the delivery date. The written quote explains how a longer stay is charged.

Can I Get Something Out of Storage Before the Main Delivery?

Yes. Every carton and piece of furniture has an inventory number, so you only need to email us the numbers you want. We then arrange the retrieval, either for you to collect or for delivery to your address. Give us as much notice as you can, because items near the back of a rack take time to reach.

Is It Safe to Store a Sofa or Mattress Through a Dubai Summer?

It is, if it is packed and placed correctly. We use breathable covers for upholstery and mattresses rather than sealing them in plastic, keep them off the floor on racks, and leave space around them for air. Make sure anything you have washed is completely dry before packing day, because damp fabric is where most mould starts.

Do You Store Goods for People Leaving the UAE for a Few Months?

Yes. Many people store for a summer abroad or a work posting and come back to a different address. We collect from your current home, store against the inventory and deliver to wherever you live on return. If you are flying out soon after collection, the survey can be done by video call and everything else handled by email.

Does Someone Have to Be Home When the Goods Come Back?

Someone should be there to let the crew in, show where each piece goes and sign off the inventory. It does not have to be you, as a family member or friend you nominate is fine. We confirm the move permit and service lift booking with the new building before the delivery date.
